THINGS TO DO
We spent five months living at Blue Apple during the pandemic of 2020 and never got bored. Remember, you're on holiday, so you're meant to do a whole lot of nothing. But if the mood takes you, here are some other ways to fill your island days. To book or for more information, contact us on Whatsapp or by email.
You can try scuba diving for the first time, complete your PADI Open Water or continue with your dive certifications. Blue Apple's house reef is within swimming distance and you can explore our reef restoration projects as you dive.
From US $95 (full details here)
One of our strongest recommendations is to explore the island and its beaches on horseback. We tailor treks to suit all abilities. For kids, we have a gentle beach experience. Up to 4 people.
Sit back and let your driver carry you pillion across the island of Tierra Bomba. You'll see the village of Bocachica and some of the island's best view points. A great alternative to horse riding.
BOCACHICA VILLAGE TOUR
After a 5 minute ride on a motorbike taxi, you'll explore Bocachica on foot, stopping to see the historic fortress of San Fernando and grab beers with the locals. We encourage all of our guests to find time to see what real island life is.
We don't have a spa (yet) but our masseuses, Noris, Marielsi and Yindis - all from Bocachica - offer relaxing beach massages in a secluded part of the garden.
US $30 (per 60 mins)
Not for the faint of heart, this is the ultimate fitness test. Up to an hour riding the trails of Tierra Bomba, accompanied by your own private motorbike escort to show you the way. Recommended early in the morning before the sun hits full force.
This stunning archipelago is a must see while you're here in Cartagena. Whisked away in your own private speedboat, you'll discover pristine white sands and azur waters. Order a coco-loco from a canoe and tuck into a fresh lobster lunch. The ultimate VIP day trip.
DAY TRIP TO CARTAGENA
More and more guests choose to base themselves on the island and explore Cartagena by day. Wander freely through the old city (no cost) or choose a Food & Culture Tour or an Art & Shopping Tour. No charge for boat transfers.
US $80 (tour for two people)
Learn how to perfect a local delicacy, like ceviche but with a little extra flair. Our Executive Chef Pedro (English) or his Sous José (Spanish) personally lead each class.
US $150 (for two people, includes wine)
BACK OF HOUSE SUSTAINABILITY TOUR
Forget the old adage of a swan swimming and all the hidden effort. We're happy for you to see what goes into Blue Apple and how we strive to make our impact (and your visit) beneficial.
US $10 (donation to our impact fund)
MAKE YOUR OWN GLASS OR CANDLE
Turn that wine or gin bottle into a gift for a loved one, or a memento for yourself. One of our artisans, trained by Green Apple, will teach you to cut, file and decorate and transform your throwaway bottle into a beautiful souvenir.
US $15 (Glass) US $30 (Candle)
PRIVATE DANCE CLASS
Two left feet? We got you. Choose a class in salsa, champeta (a local dance, inspired by this Afro-Colombian style of music) or improve your zumba skills. If nothing else, it's a great workout.
SECRET GARDEN SUPPER CLUB
If you're in luck, Chef Pedro Mosqueda might be hosting one of our Secret Garden Suppers while you're here, with a renowned guest chef. Be sure to book in advance, as tickets are limited to 24 covers.
US $75 (includes wine and cocktail pairing)
All of these activities take place weekly at Blue Apple and are free of charge for hotel guests.
All available at no cost. Treat us like a home away from home. If you can't find what you're looking for, just ask.
