a successful day at the beach comes down to three things: Good food, fun music and decent rose. so we started from there.
the simple things
We opened Blue Apple in July 2016 to be a comfortable, laid-back place where like-minded locals and in-the-know visitors to Cartagena can enjoy lazy days, music and great food in a beautiful setting.
I left the grey UK straight after university - in search of sunshine - and in early 2015 life led me to Cartagena. Having spent nearly a decade working with yachts in the French Rivera, the first thing I noticed here was a serious lack of good beach dining and rosé, so I decided to change that.
In October that year we opened our first waterside restaurant, in the mangroves on the island of Barú. Guests kept asking us if they could stay the night, so in July 2016, my team and I moved to Bocachica to start Blue Apple, where we celebrate the magic of the Colombian Caribbean with our own international touch.

Like our clients, we are mix of everything. Costeños, cartageneros, cachacos and a couple of foreigners. Half of us live on the island and half in Cartagena, but Blue Apple is home to us all. Our staff is encouraged to provide an attentive, but relaxed and personal service, as if you were guests at their own homes. Take the time to talk to us and you'll find that and every one of us has a story to tell.
