This is not your average retreat.

What do you think of when you hear the word retreat? Withdraw…seclusion…pulling away from daily life… OK. But at Blue Apple we believe that true connection is the antidote to the stress of modern life – connection to ourselves and also to other souls, mother Earth, and the various cultures around us.

At the Reset + Connect week, we tap into your inner aliveness through movement, breath, hypnotherapy, adventure, exploration and culture. Expect a week that’s equally lively and grounding, celebrating individuality while healing in community.

We move from yoga poses to scuba tanks, from breathwork to horse saddles, from motorbikes cruising to a nearby village, to a private boat speeding off to an island archipelago (with a beach picnic waiting.)

As well as yourself, get to know Colombia, its people and specifically, the island of Tierra Bomba, leaving reset, connected and with a host of life long friends.

YOUR HOSTS

Reset + Connect is hosted by holistic health and mindset coach, Bianca Dusic of bWithin and Blue Apple’s founder, keen equestrian and general bonne vivante, Portia Hart, with the goal of combining personal development with authentic cultural connection and activities in the natural world.

We believe in a holistic approach to healing that wakes you up to the beauty of being alive and enables you to share your magic with your loved ones and your host community.

With just 10 guests, the week is designed to allow Bianca the space to dedicate to each person individually and to achieve an intimate, impactful experience.

SELF CARE

Daily yoga practice and group sessions exploring breathwork, past life regression, EFT tapping (emotional freedom technique), hypnosis and therapeutic imagery.

Guests also receive a one-on-one session with Bianca to focus on a particular area of their choosing.

CULTURAL CONNECTION

Each evening, local specialists join for dinner and fireside chats on different aspects of Colombian culture, history and the arts, so that you can develop an informed sense of place, while incorporating interactive elements like dance and tastings. In free time, guests are encouraged to explore the island and beyond.

ADVENTURE & EXPLORATION

The week includes a day trip to the stunning Rosario Island archipelago in a private speedboat where you’ll enjoy snorkelling, pristine white sands and an oceanfront picnic on a secret beach.

Another highlight is the community-led tour of the neighbouring village of Bocachica to learn about the history of the island, meet locals and gain a deeper understanding of the symbiotic relationship between Blue Apple Beach and our local community.

There is also the option to schedule additional activities*, such as day trips to Cartagena city, horse treks around the island and scuba diving. Blue Apple is a PADI Dive Resort. If you are interested in doing your Open Water or another PADI certification, we can include it in your package.

THE SETTING

Blue Apple Beach is a boutique hotel and beach club with eleven rooms, located on an island 20 minutes from Cartagena. We are on a quiet, secluded beach, close to the village of Bocachica.

Founder Portia spent nearly a decade working with yachts in the Cote d’Azur, and in Blue Apple she has blended top level comfort and service, with a laid-back, home-away-from home setting that places community and staff on an equal footing with guests. We're all humans, after all.

Our rooms are all slightly different, with air conditioning, hot water, natural bed linens and entirely furnished by our own team of designers, resident artists and carpenters. Our standalone bungalow cabañas have individual plunge pools and outdoor bathrooms.

We are a popular beach club and our doors are open to locals and visitors to Cartagena for lunch. So, during the day, you'll see and meet people poolside. In mornings and evenings, the property is exclusively for the Reset + Connect group.

(We love all souls equally here, so expect to meet some of our furry residents of the cat & dog variety as well.)

FOOD & DRINK

All meals and soft drinks are included in the retreat fees.

Executive Chef, Pedro Mosqueda serves up a bespoke menu for the group, focussing on anti-inflammatory ingredients and tailored to suit individual dietary preferences.

We only serve ethical products which are sustainably sourced. Most items on our menu are local and many of our herbs and produce are grown in our own on-site garden.

We understand that people may be looking to give their bodies (and livers) a break, but just in case, we have a carefully curated wine list and all of our cocktails are made with local liquors and fresh fruit ingredients.
